Hi Everyone! It's Storytime once again and this story is about how my sister and I kidnapped a guy on my 18th birthday. Yep, we sure did. So, grab a coffee or tea. Get cozy with me. Let's get into it.

This was 1986 and it was my 18th birthday. My 18th birthday I was really looking forward to because I really felt like that was the year I was going to graduate high school and it really felt like my life was just going to start. So, my sister comes to the house and says "We're going out." And this is unusual for a few things. My mom was extremely strict with me. She would not let me do anything. I was not allowed to have a social life. I couldn't go to school games. I couldn't go to school dances. I could count on one hand in the whole four years of high school that I went to a game and a dance. Couldn't go to parties, couldn't go to friends' houses, I couldn't do after school activities. I was a social outcast in high school and that's why because I wasn't allowed to participate in anything. Couldn't tell you why I wasn't this troublemaker kind of kid. She just wouldn't let me go out. But for some reason she would let me go out with my sister. I was very bizarre.

My sister is 3 years older than me, and she is a free spirit. If there's a party or fun to be had, she's the gal. And she knew everybody. So guaranteed pandemonium and chaos with a whole lot of fun was going to happen. Guaranteed drinking as well. We leave the house, get in the car, she hands me a beer and off we go.

This is in Neosho. The thing to do on Friday and Saturday nights was to go cruising along the town square, Neosho Boulevard, and Coler Street. That's what everyone did and if you saw someone you knew parked on the square you would get out and hang with them for a bit and go back to cruising.

We're having a grand ole time drinking, listening to music, and carrying on. We pull into Sonic. Now Sonic had been in Neosho for years before it spread throughout the U.S. We pull in next to a truck and there's two guys were standing next to it talking.

My sister says, "see that guy over there?" I looked over and said I did and she said, "I want to talk to him". I had just enough liquid courage in me to do this. She did not know how this was going to go down. Heck, I didn't even know how this was going to go down until I did it! Mind you when I was 18, I had zero self-esteem and I was extremely shy. So, this was liquid courage 100%.

I walk up to him and say, "excuse me, sorry to bother you but, we are having trouble with our radio, and we were wondering if you could take a look at it?". He agrees and gets into the car on the passenger side and starts fiddling with the knobs. I immediately push him over, jump in the car, slam the door shut, and turn to look at him with a big smile.

He's looking at me with big eyes wondering "what in the heck is going on?" I say to him "you have been officially kidnapped". He looks at my sister, does a double take on her because she's stunning, looks back at me and then looks forward and yells "hell yeah!!". We leave Sonic.

We're driving around, music blasting, singing at the top of our lungs having a grand time. After a little bit he says "wait! We need to go get my friend!" We go back to Sonic and pull in next to the truck again. I tell them, I got this. I get out and walk up to him and say, "we have your friend, if you want him back you will go with us." He looks at me, quirks his brow and says "intriguing.... okay." He gets in the backseat with me and the first guy is up front with my sister.

We go back to driving around, blasting music, talking, and cracking up that we kidnapped them. We went through McDonalds drive thru and got fries. Fries were THE drinking food back then because you won't throw up if you eat them and it was true; I didn't throw up. The fries back then were the best fries. Not the junk we have today. We had a great night and eventually took them back to their truck.

My sister dated that guy for a little while and remained friends with him to this day. The guy I was with was actually a Junior at my High School. We would see each other and smile. We had different friends, so we didn't hang out but it was a little secret that we had. A year later I saw him at a school dance, and I walked up to him and asked him if he remembered me and he smiled and said that he did.

To this day I still can't believe that I kidnapped a guy! LOL. My sister got a kick out of it too. She loved seeing little miss goody two shoes like me getting drunk and flirting with guys lol. It was such a fun night. I got wasted drunk but had an amazing time. It was a great birthday and I treasure the memory.

Thank you so much for reading my blog. Please check out my video where I tell the story in more detail. Take care and be well.
