Hi! It's the day after New Year's and that means New Year resolutions. Usually that means diet and exercise. I'm going to talk about something that I started back in September and it's called rebounding. It's jumping on a mini trampoline. It's a lot of fun and it's surprisingly effective.
What if I told you that just 10 minutes a day is a full body workout? It's true. It's maximum results with minimum effort. Per a NASA study, 10 minutes of rebounding with some aerobic activity is equivalent to a 30-minute run. Here are some of the benefits of rebounding.
Easy on the joints. Rebounding is a low impact exercise. The impact is significantly less than if you go running or walking.
You will lose weight. Modifying your diet by eliminating excess sugar and processed foods plus doing the rebounder with aerobic activity will make you lose weight. When jumping your muscles are contracting which causes them to work harder. You will burn calories while you are exercising and after you are done.
It is a total body workout. Walking or running only works the lower half of your body. Rebounding works your arms, legs, and core.
Improves cardiorespiratory. Rebounding doesn't feel like it, but it is strenuous which increases oxygen into your body because you are breathing heavier while working out.
It boosts your mood. Exercising as a whole boosts mood by increasing endorphins. Rebounding has the same effect without having to spend an hour or more on it.
Improves balance and coordination. You don't even realize it but while you are jumping on it you are practicing your balance skills.
Increases lymphatic circulation. Your body has several lymph nodes. As we age our lymph nodes will get backed up due to several factors such as poor diet, stress, lack of exercise, sickness, etc. Rebounding naturally works those nodes and releases toxins into your liver and kidneys to filter out of your body.
Strengthens muscles. Jumping up and down on the rebounder causes your muscles to contract which will naturally strengthen, firm, and tone them.
Improves circulation. If you have trouble with swelling, jumping on a rebounder will help get your blood circulating and will lower any swelling you experience.
Improves digestion. By jumping on the rebounder, it strengthens your intestinal wall and helps with digesting your food.
These are some of the many benefits to rebounding. It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. I have a Pinterest account that I will pin a few rebounders that I use and recommend.
I like to follow a few Youtubers that do rebounder aerobic workout. One is called Jump & Jacked and the other is Fabulous 50s. Here are their links:
I hope you found this informative. Please watch my video where I expand on this even more.
Thank you so much! Take care and be well.
